Another Kitty McG masterpiece (according to KMcG) starring American Pie (as seen on tour with Monty Roberts), there are various cast members of minor importance but the star of the show (apart from himself of course) is Debbie Shilston who looks after him at the weekends 'if Kelly is on a course'. Debbie reveals a story of how "he's not always perfect" and tells how 'Kelly won't let me clip his whiskers because he needs to see in the dark'.

Is this a chapter from the book Pie is writing: Making the Perfect Pie. I'm glad he mentions his whiskers. It's illegal to cut them in Germany you know, so that german horses don't poison themselves, as well as for night vision.

Hi Catrin, I'd like to ask how having whiskers stops horses poisoning themselves?

Was horribly confused, not to say slightly panicking, until I realised the programme's actually called Horsemanship Essentials Safely on record now! Phew!
I had to melt the ice off my boys whiskers this morning - my hands were frozen afterwards and they weren't in the least bit grateful as I was keeping them from their hay... :0(

Oh goodness - hope you guys like it now. Kitty insisted on us getting all 'arty' and I had to present things from different places while she hung out of a tree/whatever. She'll never let me live it down - I was watching one bit and the sun suddenly kind of explodes and I said 'that's amazing that the sun did that right at that moment' and she explained that it was a special effect and if the sun had really done that the world would have ended by now - well how was I supposed to know that?

Kelly - I absolutely loved this programme - love all of the Horse and Country programmes Kitty but this was the best - it's about Pie it was real treat to watch. BTW - I don't have Sky - the Horsemanship Essentials programmes are on the internet on the Horse and Country TV website. I might just have to watch Pie again!!!! Kelly - I think Pie's companion Herbie looks great too.
