Just a small suggestion. I wonder about planting a tree or something that has healing properties, so that the branches, leaves or bark can actually be given to the EMW horses. The one I have in my head is White Willow (Salix Alba), which contains salicylic acid, the natural form of aspirin but there are probably others. I just thought, a tree with healing properties....
Thanks for the info above. Will make a donation ASAP.

Bench would be nice! You can identify donations made online, as you have to put in a reference - so if I type 'Nikki Italy' it will show up on EMW's bank account.
Interestingly I tested this years ago, when I owed my ex some money (not an ex then!). I put 'sexual favours' in the reference and heard a rather loud splutter a few days later, when he checked his account online. Tee hee hee!!

We would be honoured and humbled to carry a permanant reminder of Nikki - Nikki and I talked well into the small hours many many times when neither of us could sleep and especially through long dark winter nights. Lona's story and Nikki's determination that the mare should have the chance of life as horses should live was /is the greatest story I know of right now. Nikki's untimely death shocked me to the roots and made me realise that non of us can take the length our lives for granted, we should embrace each second. I miss Nikki very much, as we all do. EMW Herefordshire is indeed a beautiful place, we hope a place where horses and ponies can live as natural and peaceful life as possible, and hope that for those reasons it will bring the spirit of a great horse woman closer to those who in future come to visit and who knew Nikki too. A tree, a bench, both....let me know emw x

i think Wendys Idea of a white willow is lovely, perhaps that and some other medicinal trees plants such as hawthorn and rosehips....
Although I think the bench is a lovely idea I can help but think that with Nikkis love for her horses it may be more appropriate to get something that the horses can directly benefit from. Something lasting and growing but useful for the horses would be wonderful in my opinion.....
Do we send the donation to ihcharity paypal?

Have a look at the original post Nicola, the instructions for payments are there. Agree with the plants/trees idea - great But this depends on whether Justin agrees when he contacts Ann. If he is organising something he knows Nikki would have wanted obviously we'd all want to join in with that.

We have at EMW Herefordshire copious amounts of willow, rosehips, hawthorn - all mature all growing abundantly and for the horses to self sample, I'm worried that a new one may disappear amongst many. I think Justin will ahve the final say. Whatever he and family want in memory of Nikki EMW are happy to accept. emw
