On Friday I had to say goodbye to my beautiful little cat Twizzle. I got her on July 19th 1995, it was birthday and last day of primary school.
Over the past 14years, she has been there for me, through all the good times and all the bad. She had so many quirky little habbits that made me smile each day.
She had a heart murmour all her life and wasn't expected to live past the age of ten. I thank my lucky stars I got to have such a special little person on my life for as long as I did. She never bit, scratched or ever did anything nasty. She was my little mate.
A couple of weeks ago she started to get a bit of a belly on her, I watched her get bigger, despite still eating and not being in any pain. On Thursday night she wasn't herself and couldn't bring herself to look at me. I was too weak to take her to the vets so my mother took her for me. I said my final goodbye and she never came home. Twizzle was in the initial stages of heart failure and was not in any pain (for which I am pleased and I knew), however if I had left her any longer she would have suffered, the vets told mum there was nothing they could have done any earlier but they could prevent her being in any pain in the very near future, she only had hours left.
I'm greatful she didn't suffer, and I'm greatful I had the best 14years with my little friend, I just wish we didn't have to say goodbye.
I will miss you forever Twiz, mummy will always love you!! xxxxxx
