I woke to discover that a young man I am proud to have known, Stuart passed over last night. He was injured on the rugby field last April, suffering a full spinal break and has been an inspiration, hanging onto everything life had left to offer. He comes from a very loving, horsey family and enjoyed riding out from a young age with his father Brian. The first time I met him he was speeding around a X-country course here in Ireland, on foot, at about 12 years old, just helping out a million megawatt smile lighting up another grey Irish day. He had that golden glow, that only young people with huge hearts have at that point in time. He went on to travel, speaking six languages and was starting out on a great career in finance in London.
Goodbye Stuart. Please remember his devastated family in your prayers.

Rest in peace Stuart. I can't imagine how his family must feel.

Thank you Kanga for that beautiful word-picture of Stuart. What a desperately sad story, but what wonderful joyful memories he has left behind.

I was delighted to see he made the front of many Irish papers this weekend. Literally thousands of people had been working to raise money for his assisted living etc, two girls walked across Spain. He leaves such a positive legacy to spinal injury sufferers, but he'll be missed every day by so many of us. Appreciate the kind words.
