Following on from our first successful lecture by Jane van Lennep, she is returning to Mortimer to present 'Forage Feeding Explained'. This lecture covers the principal of forage feeding, why forage works for horses and the sorts of quantities you should be feeding for the size of your horse and the work it is doing.
Once again the evening will be split in to two halves, the first the lecture, the second (after cakes!) is a chance to ask Jane any questions you may have on feeding, getting horses fit, handling youngsters, anything you want to know really.
In Conjunction With
Barefoot Basics
Forage Feeding Explained
Jane van Lennep, B.Sc., M.Sc., B.H.S.I. (S.M.), N.P.S.Dip.
An amusing and informative talk discussing what and how much to feed. There will be a question and answer session at the end of the lecture
Jane is a farmer's daughter and has kept horses professionally for over 30 years, developing what we now know as The Simple System of forage feeding. Her extensive experience is probably of more value than her qualifications. She lectures at all levels and, in her spare time breeds and competes on home-bred endurance horses. She has always favoured more natural systems of management.
Author of the books First Foal and First Steps, Jane is also a resident expert in Horse and Rider magazine.
