Hi, If anyone's riding past my field [everyone local seems to know where I am], please can you keep an eye open because someone has been letting Pumba and Timmy out of their yard overnight. Both are watching their waistlines and P is really prone to laminitis so am a bit worried. Someone probably thinks they are being kind hearted but Pumba's weight has gone through the roof over the last few days. I know someone is letting them out because after it happened the first time I tied the gate shut and the knot was undone. I'm getting a chain and padlock for the gate ASAP. Thanks guys.

I mean for the gate between the yard and field, the outer gate is padlocked of course.

Maybe an idea to write a brief note and leave it in a plastic bag on the gate or nearby, saying why these horses are in the yard and what would happen to them if they get too much grass etc. But in a way the person can read and understand if they are not horsey. I had this problem once and did this, also leaving a contact telephone number. I wasnt rung, but the letting out stopped.
