We are continuing to arrange courses, talks and demos at Kate1981's yard in Sible Hedingham (provided we behave ourselves!). Already booked for this summer are Hilary Vernon's bitting clinic on 18th July and the equine first aid course on 16th August. If there are any subjects you'd like us to try and cover, or if you have any suggestions of people who give great talks, then please let me know. Bear in mind, of course, that although events don't need to be by IH people, they should fit with the basic IH philosophy of sympathy with the horse.
One thing I'll be following up with over the next week or so is the possibility of a talk by an EDT on the impact of poor teeth, what we as owners should look out for, the effect of diet on teeth, etc.
Any other ideas/suggestions/requests, please let me know.

Trec - I'll look into it. What did you have in mind, looking at the obstacles, having a sort of clinic with a couple of willing volunteer neds to see how you'd tackle them at home, then a mini-competition a few months later, something like that?
Longlining - no problem, we can do that sometime.
ET - definitely
Looks like we're going to be busy...

Would love to have a go at Le Trec amongst friends who won't point and laugh!! What about asking Jane VL from Simple Systems to do her 'Bucket to barrow' talk on nutrition? Would also love to hear Heather Moffet talk/clinic but prob too far for her to come. Anything on grassland management would be great as well. Will keep thinking....
Any excuse to visit that fab yard again!!

hi all i have not been on here for a while as i am feeling a little lonely and very horseless. i would love to attend the equine fist aid course but its my birthday and as much as i sort of feel it should be a day where i do things for me,i dont think i would be very popular if i attended on the 16th!!!! is there going to be anything else coming up soon and would it be ok to attend as i have not been a very active member? ?

Hi Shelley There's the bitting clinic on 18th July, details are in the demo/courses section. Kate1981 and I are looking into how to go about a trec thingy. One problem is insurance. Because it's a private yard and only insured as such, we would not be able to open it up to everyone. What we could do, though, is have a look a sample course and how you would go about preparing for it with Kate's horses, and maybe a couple of her friends' horses (so she doesn't have to ride 5!), and then maybe end up with just a quick fun competition for those few horses. Sorry we can't do a come-and-have-a-go day, but we should be able to make it fun and interesting all the same. What does everyone think? Sound worth doing it?

As I seem to be jinxed and already commited on these fab dates you have been arranging I am hesitant to post... but here goes, I'm interested in finding our more about feet, about the benefits and process of transitioning to barefoot specifically and wondered if anyone else might be interested? anyone know an EP who would be able / happy to give a little lect / demo? ideally somewhere we could look at barefoot and shod feet... ? thoughts? mta the trec is a great idea
