Hello! I'm Daren, and somehow managed to set myself a profile on here many, many moons ago and totally forgot about it! ;D I'm from a place near Edinburgh, and have been riding for nearly 3 years (on and off). I help out with my local RDA branch and can generally be found bothering a 16hh Shire-x-Appaloosa called Ace (see below): I'm a MASSIVE Clydesdale fan, and would love to have my own someday. In the meantime, I'll settle for meeting as many as I can (and plotting to steal them), or having a blast down at the Cumbrian Heavy Horses! Here's a pic of yours truly on Sally, a Clydesdale I used to play with: I've got dozens of other Clydie photos, so if you want I'll post some up later....

Welcome to the DG Daren. Great photos. I saw the Clydesdales on Countryfile a couple of weeks ago. Can well understand why you are smitten with them, what absolutely glorious horses!

Yeah, I've been down to ride at the Cumbrian Heavy Horse Centre twice now, and planning my third trip for November! In fact, one of the horses I rode, Brogue, was in the programme:

Oh, I'm also attempting to write a novel, as well! Very much a work in progress at the moment, though...

You do get smaller ones! (Pity Sally's not with us any more, as she was only 16hh - perfect for a short-arse like me!)

I've ridden a horse called Wee Man..lol, will look out his pic... he was 18.2 clydie.... I was ok on him (when I managed to get on, this was pre mounting block days, lol) until he started bucking one day.... I could see for miles over the 8ft hedge out on a hack...

Ollie at Cumbria was 18.2 - which is quite exciting when he decides to tank off across the fields with you!
