Whilst I was doing jobs today I heard a banging noise fron the field, went out there & Zico was using his front foot to try and crack through the ice on the top of the field water trough, bless him, it was quite funny to watch cause Peppermint was stood right next to him watching with an expression of "come on hurry up!" on her face!LOL! There was more than enough room for her to try and break it but I guess she thinks thats Zico's job, shes obviously far too delicate for that! He couldnt do it, so I went out and tried, eventually done it but ended up with a very cold wet foot (I only had muckers on). The things we do for our beloved ponies

hehe i saw mine doing it the other day! i broke him a hole and he trundled up next to me practically tutted at me banging away and made his own. He very gently pressed down on the ice with his muzzle, and pushed harder and harder until the ice cracked and fell through! looked at me as if to say 'see it easy?! stoopid!'

My two wouldn't attempt it themselves - that's what they have a human for!!! I've found an alternative use for my Ragfork as an ice breaker - much more civilized that getting one's foot wet!!!

Can just picture Peppermint standing there like a damsel in distress fluttering her eyelashes at Zico for him to break the ice!

Tell me about it!
I played Jack'n'Jill with small water buckets two days on the trot (forgive the pun as none was intended) for my lot as their trough was frozen as they came to the fence while I was in the block and psychied me into doing it.

Flynn wouldn't dream of doing it himself - not one of his jobs!!
