Gosh have just checked Accuweather for local forecast and to say it is grim is an understatement! Up until 19th Jan the warmest it will get is 6C and every night we have frost forecast! Have had to leave my neds in today as I cannot physically get them across the ice outside their boxes!! So much for global warming me thinks!!!!!!

I did hear a spokesperson from the met office on radio 4 yesterday who said that whilst they cannot predict further ahead than seasonally that history shows a cold hard winter is usually followed by a hot dry summer - YIPPEEEEEE !!!

My stove which runs all the heating in our house broke down this morning. We are huddled around a fan heater like rats.

This cold weather is playing havoc with my riding. The bridle baths are frozen with big deep ruts that make it too dangerous to ride on and our school has been frozen solid for about a week, the best I can do is walk round the school. Still we'll have a perfect walk I guess!
Did somebody mention a hot dry summer! Yes please, but maybe if it could just rain at night please for the grass :-)

I cant even find the poo to poo pick last night! although I did have to give in and bring Flynn in, as no water available in the field due to frozen tank and little supply now.
But roll on weekend it is forecast to be well above freezeing might get tanks and taps thawed.. instead of hauling water from home to the yard.
Think I also will be doing a walk around the school Heather tonight to give him leg stretch from being in all day and night. I can only console myself it is only for a short time.
Sorry folks but I hate the hot summer it brings those nasty horseflies make my life hell, I love the spring and autumn days far better but dry ones! not asking for much.
But this cold will kill lots of germs..

This is what the road outside our house looks like....... and the field is 200 yards from the house, along the road! Luckily the pavement's not too bad, so we're walking them along there. No sign of it thawing at all today. It is a bit scary, but don't like leaving them in all day.

We gritted our path yesterday - one good thing about having an OH who works for the council! It is now a lot easier to walk down - the yard will be done tonight probably.
