Can you recommend any? I am buying a pair for Cosworth as he seems to be getting arthritis in his knees, I want him to wear them overnight to keep his legs warm. I would buy thermatex wraps, but he has access to the field & shelter at night and knowing him, he would plaster them in mud in about 10 mins flat, lol!

A couple of people at our yard use the Equilibrium close contact turnout chaps. But they should only be on for 6 out of 7 days according to the blurb about them. One of my friends uses the Sportabac turnout chaps which she says although cheaper than the Equilibrium ones have proved to more suitable for her particular horse.
The other option is whether you can get some kind of magnetic boot or strap for him? I know Jill has one on Caspar. Might be worth PM'ing her maybe?

He already wears Bioflow brushing boots when he's exercised. Just after something to keep the cold out. I'll look into those Sportabac ones, thanks!

I use the Sportabac turnout socks, they dont slip and are a lovely fit, not had any problems with them & they were cheaper then the Equilibrim ones

I've tried both sportabac and equilibrium and would recommend the equilibrium hands down every time. Noosa got a horrible outbreak of that crazy summer mud fever that showed up this year, took weeks to get rid of the last scabbiness of her hinds and because I'd had to clip her legs quite close I wanted to give her some extra protection. The sportabacs were ok, but much more flimsy feeling that the equilibrium fellas and they ripped quite easily round the edges. She wears the equilibriums all day and has had no rubs, or slippage, at all. The manufacturers blurb suggests NOT wearing them for 24 hours at a time, but they do a very good job of keeping the mud out, so he'd probably cope with more than just 12 hours at a time. I got mine on ebay, paid 28 and 35 quid for the different pairs (instead of £53 new) Good luck

I use the Equilibrium turnout chaps and the stable chaps (for the nights) for the same reason as you. I just think that most times you get what you pay for. They definitely help keep Uges legs warm and dry.
