A special science section on the board - copies of all the best Horse Psychology projects will be put onto a special members section. You will be able to see the results of previous studies, see how these might help your horse now and/or if you would like to expand on the study to see if we can expand our knowledge further. There have been some brilliant IH studies done over the last 10 years.

That sounds soooooo good. I find myself saying "that would be a great idea to study" and am aware that the psychology students have done some really good work. Will be waiting in anticipation for this - thanks Kelly. Another good reason for keeping up my membership!

The projects presented on the stage 2 course this year were so interesting. It is amazing what some people have discovered and how scientific and professional many of them were.

Brilliant news, Kelly ! I know it's usually possible to rifle through previous projects if you're attending one of the courses, but I never felt I did them justice. Looking forward to LOTS of catching up ;D

Kelly
Will they be 'peer reviewed' or publications from 'peer reviewed journals/conferences?'

Hi Colin This is the first year that we've put forward projects for peer review. This is purely down to the enthusiasm of Dr Veronica Fowler who knows exactly how to guide students through the correct methodology which will enable them to get accepted. We should have about 3 project s peer reviewed this year and the other projects can fairly be termed 'very interesting studies'. These will be of interest to many horse people and may be of particular interest to students who can see the potential and would like to take the studies further.
Dr. V, Monty and I are doing studies at Hartpury in February this year and we'll report on those of course.
Interesting Times!

Hi Kelly Its good to know this is happening, its important that studies are published and able to stand up to critique. Have you involved anybody from the potential journals to help the students 'write' in the style that they would accept? Thats the way universities do it, its a whole industry-often to get one over on the university next door . Also will publish in a 'peer reviewed' journal and then in a 'mag' so you could have something in 'your horse' and a scientific journal. One thing to remember-a famous philosopher-Lyotard said 'Reseach is not about truth, but about power' Are you going to start a reference/bibilography list? Good luck
