Heres me a Reggie having a new year snog. They got carrots and were not a bit bothered by the fireworks in the village, in fact it seemed like they were watching them

Happy New Year Girls!
Yes Cassiejane you are luck, I really miss living with my horses. That's my resolution, find a property where we can all live together again, it's been my resolution for a couple of years now, but I WILL keep trying.
Toby loves watching fireworks too! He seems to round the other horses up so they can stand and watch together!

Happy New Year to everyone! My new year couldn't have started any better. It's exactly six months less one week that I last rode and today I climbed back onto my beloved Badger for a gentle walk around the arena, (well I was naughty and had a little trot - and then a couple of strides of canter. Friends and husband all told me off severely, but I DON'T CARE - I'm back in the saddle!!!!!!) ps I have a load of weight to lose - but a lot of it today was padding against the cold!!

Happy New Year Lisa! I wondered all day if you would get out riding, good for you, sounds like it all went better than expected! Did you restrain yourself on New Years Eve or was it the hangover that made you feel like you could do anything?!?! (Isn't that how it all started?!?!)
That second photo looks like your telling someone off, never mind being told off yourself!

Happy new year Kathy & Lisa too! Lisa - Great to see you back on Badger, & Badger even seems quite impressed considering he's not going to be a field ornament any longer! The arena does look rather posh! That second photo looks like your telling someone off, never mind being told off yourself! Kathy - Lisa does a very good 'telling off' face doesn't she! Well, I have really enjoyed my first Christmas & new year as a horse owner. By the end of 2009 I WILL be jumping as Catrin says Duchess is thinking of trying jumping again - Gulp!

Happy New Year Debbie and Family! That photo has captured Lisa very well I think! Only your 1st holiday as a horse owner? Wow! It was my 1st working Christmas as a Groom. I was up and at my 1st horse for 6.30, 2nd for 7, then mine. I worked my butt off to be back to see Sarn open her pressies, but when I got home just before 8 nobody was up! Typical! I had to wake them!
Lisa, I thought you said Badger wasn't fit, but he seems to have a trace clip?! More work for the pair of you!

Forgot to say the new arena looks amazing! Ahem, you do know that pictures are obligatory? (How is Harry BTW?) Sadly Jill I meant Lisa's new arena, mine is just a pipe dream at the moment ! Harry is fighting fit, and desperate to get some work, I have not had the time to ride him, such a shame as he's raring to go, he even canters across the field to see me now!

Moi? ? Why would I *ever* need a telling off face? After all, my clients would never, ever, ever need telling off - would they??? Anyway, the second piccie was me pointing at my hip and talking to my osteopath who was there to supervise my first day back on board - I was saying something like "It's not working properly!!" Darling Badger had had his extra high chaser clip done the day before in honour of me starting to ride again. I swear we could have knitted another pony with the amount of hair that came off him. Now I have a little secret to share with you all..... as from 1st January I have another horsey on part loan. He is a 13 year old warmblood gelding and he is 17.00hh tall!!!! Lots of you met Cara Kimber at one of our HCM's when she was demonstrating with DebbieR's Duchess various bits of groundwork. Well, Cara is now in Australia, and a few weeks back she emailed me in a bit of a panic as her loan home for Oska had gone pear-shaped. I offered to have Oska at Springfield while we tried to find a new loan home for him. When Oska arrived he was soooo gorgeous, and soooo handsome that I decided he needed to stay with us. Anyhow, my dear friend Jane and another lady, Yvonne have taken him on loan between us. Yvonne will be mainly hacking him out, Jane will be doing a bit of jumping, and I shall be doing some schooling with a view to a bit of dressage later in the year. I shan't be getting up on him for a while yet, it's taking me all my time to climb on 14.00hh Badger, but he is a complete gent and I'm really looking forward to sitting on him. Yvonne is riding him in these piccies which of course were taken on Christmas morning, hence the tinsel and reindeer antlers on Murphy!
