Need a new bit for my Welsh D. He's rising 4 & I've been using a Happy mouth full cheek roller centre snaffle, which he's been fine in, but he's chewed it so I need a new one. I'd rather go for metal this time, just wondered what others would go for?

Yeah, I was thinking something similar, then started looking on e-bay & got dazzled! Looking at sweet iron ones with full cheeks, not sure about french link or not as he had the roller before....?

Stick with a roller, I get dazzled by bits every time I'm in a tack shop! head starts wondering how she'd go with this or that..... but at the end of the day she works lovely in her french link, so I wont be changing.

Have a look at the Rockin S bit (www.bewithyourhorse.com). It is a great bit for most horses as it is quite thin so doesn't take up much room in their mouth and the fixed rings at the side mean it sits very still. The fixed rings also make the steering very clear. It comes in a snaffle version and a French link version but again, the fixed rings prevent a nutcracker action. Some horses prefer the snaffle version as it seems to sit even stiller than the French link but ours are happy in the French link version.
