As hubby is police officer he is working Xmas Day. Not unusual either so like many other years we will have our Christmas Day dinner Boxing day.. Now kids are grown up.. I am on my own most of the day and simply getting a dinner ready for later as if it was a normal Sunday .. well Sundays are also normal to have him working. So I am putting out a few horses so others can be home getting their xmas dinner on.. and will go for a ride on the quiet lanes and bridleways. Popping to See June.. and then that is my xmas day.. There has to be loads here who are in similar or even the ones working.. Funny how so many think the world stops because it is Christmas and it certainly doesnt.. I get these folks at work say You have to go and see your horse even Christmas Day!!! shock horror.. Anyway I wish you all a lovely Christmas ... Susan & Flynn

I worked last Christmas Day, got this year off , although I am working Boxing Day . I work in the Social Care sector, its very sad how many of our old folks are on their own at Christmas, with just a carer popping in breifly for company , especially sad when quite a few have families that dont even bother to visit them at Christmas

Hubby at home for xmas thank god, so many others in the forces are not. My friend is on her own xmas day, her husband is a Typhoon pilot and is working 8am xmas day to 9am boxing day. They have simply moved their xmas day to 27th!

Happy Christmas Susan, in the peace and quiet. I will be driving to and fro like a madwoman like normal, but your Christmas sounds rather nice to me

I've always found Christmas day an excellent day for a hack, on that and days like cup final day the roads are so quiet you don't have to cope with heavy traffic or lots of people out, just the occasional dog walker was all we would ever meet. I'll be staying over at Mum & Dads, so Bailey will get a big Christmas hug and apple - I couldn't not see him! So Happy Christmas Susan! It sounds like you're going to have an excellent Christmas day.

Me and my partner are doing charity work as usual - taking old folk to the Sally Army for their dinner and taking meals out to folk who cant make it there. We're then picking them up at 3.30 to take them home again. This is my sixth year helping them and I love it - it's not Christmas without a bit of charity work.
Might get up early and have a ride in the morning - riding Blue and leading Frank.

Have a wonderful Christmas and say hello to Tom and your grey boys for me. I'll be doing horses in the morning and then off to my sisters for Christmas dinner, friend catching in for me and then we'll reverse it all for boxing day. Have a great day everyone, Merry Christmas.

I've got a family xmas this yr, first for a few so will be manic, i've just been out for a lovely quiet ride on my Lark, 1st time i've ridden her properly for months! She thinks she's really fit and needs to job everywhere so it was lovely jigging along the lanes.
Trying to ride out early morning as well, smallish wants to dress the ponies up so we will get up mega early to get it all done before we go off visiting.
