That is awful. In the picture you can see how badly broken the off hind is and the near hind has severe wounds too. How anyone can do that to another living thing is beyond me. RIP poor horses

That's about an hour from where I live. I feel pure revulsion. I've never heard of the Travellers attacking each other's horses-never, and I'm sure most are equally appalled.

I have never heard of anything like this! Really bad juju. Surely they'd kill rather than injure? They'd still get the point across without this much suffering! I'm speechless for the second time tonight!

I can't bring myself to open that link. The comments in this thread are enough for me to feel utter revulsion, disgust and anger at whoever did this. Scum.

Listen, the Travelling community here are the blacks of Ireland and treated disgracefully. Their kids are not allowed into the schools without a fight from the locals and they are maligned everywhere they go. This is one bad lot, and I would imagine there is deep upset amongst the wider populations about this horrendous incident. Please don't take these remarks too far. I'm as upset as anyone over this as it's in my county, but I won't have a whole community blamed for it.

My comment of scum was not aimed at any particular community, but at whichever individual or individuals did it. Sadly there are too many scum abusing animals, not just from any one particular community.
Hope that clarifies my post as would not want it to be taken out of context.

I understand. Believe me Casper, I'm haunted by the images on the news here in Ireland. At least it was all over the media, something not always seen in animal cruelty cases.
