Have just had this video emailed through to me. It was on US news last week and am totally shocked. A couple owned 6 horses, all of which were emaciated. Their car got stuck in a ditch so they tried to make one of the emaciated tbs try to pull the car out which resulted in the horse collapsing in the ditch. The fire brigade got the horse out but he couldn't get back up and was pts. The remaining 5 horses have been seized. Note the large expensive house, post and rail paddocks etc. It was discovered the following day that the owners were VETS RIP chestnut tb www.ctvbc.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20081211/BC_neglected_horses_SPCA_081211?hub=BritishColumbiaHome

I'm not going to watch that as I don't need it embedded in my mind, but I hope they get exactly what's coming to them in this life or the next.

Oh my god! Vets!? I'm speechless!
I can't watch either, but my imagination is enough.

Why can't a draught horse in good fettle pull a car out of a drain? Nothing wrong with that, if he's the right horse and fit.
Strange attitude from the lady interviewed. Of course an emaciated TB can't, but........

Is that really the point Wally - this is absolutely horrendous. Very very few things reduce me to tears but this did.

How terribly awful, i felt very sad seeing the horses in the stable. Tears did develop on the footage of the horse that was lifted from a ditch by a tow truck and then watching the poor thing trying to struggle to its feet but not managing. It truely is sickening

No it's not the point, but why make such a thing about it, what they did was unforgivable, but the animal rights folk shouldn't make silly comments like that....and the question from the reporter should have been treated with the contempt it deserved.
I use my lot all the time to shift heavy things I can't.......but they are not emaciated and they are built for draught.
