Never tried one before - just use to struggle on with a torch. Finally, bought a headlamp - best tenner I've spent in ages. Brilliant invention.

I love mine - but do sometimes feel as if I am impersonating a mini lighthouse as I walk up the field with my barrow turning my head from side to side to scan the floor!!! ;D

Heather if you go on net and do search of headtorches go for one with the new leds.. I cant recall the name of them at the mo..but at least go for as many Leds as you can get... my best one I recently broke had max up to 21... and far better then the one I am using with 7.. Hey why not get better light fitted in the stable.. or will I upset verne...( sorry Verne) or hand up one of those rechargeable flourencents I also have with twin tubes in. They are super, I got mine in Costco.. not expensive either.. but dont buy theur headtorch is it expensive.

I think I'd start a riot Susan if I had a fluorescent light fitted in my stable, everyone would want one. Still maybe I could ask. The light's just not that bright although I seem to remember last year I took down the light fitting and cleaned it and that did brighten it up so I might have to get the ladder out and do it again! Will check out the head lamps though too.
