How did this happen lol, I had planned my next horse would be something I can showjump. I was NOT going to fall for a horse i felt sorry for
Anyway some people have asked his story so this is some.... some will already know most of it.
I saw him advertised few weeks ago and felt sorry for him, asked around to see if anyone was interested in offering in him a good home. didnt really get him out of my head after that and then last week he was advertised again reduced to £200 so I just had to email.
This is his description "Loving 8 year old 16 hh bay gelding needing new understanding home. He is a gorgeous boy who is a softie but has been badly treated. Has come on in leaps and bounds but needs a sympathetic quiet rider to bring him on further. Price reflects the work needed and has been reduced as nobody is buying at the minute and he is sat here but we will not be giving him away. Never bitten kicked bucked or reared. He is hacked out and is brilliant in traffic but scared of other things. He needs a quiet person who will love him dearly as i do.
She needed him gone by this weekend so didnt think I could manage it in time but got everything sorted just in time for her to offer me first refusal.
Then when digging around I found someone trying to trace him from a previous home and had a very interesting chat with her. Her friend had bought him but he was too much for him and kept dumping her so the girl looking for him rode him. She said he was very green and would try and bolt and could panic when he realised someone was up there(so would I if I was sensitive and people kept falling off me) but she did a bit with him and even jumped a very small bit(he doesnt really know much there)
Lost track of if iv missed a home or the order but I think he was then sold to a 15 yr old girl who obviously he was to much for then at some point he was sold as unbroken(may have been by her not sure) and eventually ended up with the lady I bought him off. Obviously had a hard time along the way too as the girl who told me all this said he was confident and bit pushy but when the lady I got him from got him he would shake just at the sight of people.
She was a nice lady and obviously had done alot of good with him in the 6 months she had him, he clearly had some confidence in her and followed her straight into the lorry when it took 2 hours when she collected him and he dragged someone on the belly down the field LMAO she didnt have the same problems ridden either s he clearly needs confidence from his rider.
He sweated up badly in the lorry but seemed reasonabley chilled when he arrived. Left him in last night and he is going out 24/7 from today, just hoping he moves ok and is sound. Trotting him up when viewed him was like watching someone run sideways as he was spooking so much. He did do one stride when he just floated but when he went into his spooky trot. Its all gone to perfect so far so something has got to go wrong lol
No plans as yet, he needs to fill out first and lots groundwork and see whats what with him. The photos are at his old home and he was still spending more time spooking than taking notice of his handler and what they wanted.
Thats it though im offically mad and need a straight jacket but if I wasnt struck enough on him already it competely did me when the girl who rode him for an old owner said she wished the lady would just PTS cos he is just going to keep going from home to home. He's is going to be stunning too when he fills out, the photos dont do him justice at all.
Dave was laughing at me when id already added his little folder with all his pics and snippets next to Dan's folder on my mac.... before id even seen him
