Glad you've got the vet coming, at least it will give you peace of mind that there is nothing major.
Possibly you're right about her only being backed recently, maybe just work from the ground for the next week-10 days and get her confidence?
Mags, hope you and the bike are ok!

I watched the video and did not see a pony in pain - I saw one that was totally confused, hadn't a clue what it was meant to do and was reacting to the thing in its mouth by doing what youngsters generally do, ie stick head in air and run.
This pony doesn't look properly broken to me and I wouldn't be riding it in an open field.
It seems that many animals imported from the continent as broken are barely backed and need started over again. By all means have him checked out but unless you were wanting a green youngster I would send him back.

She didn't look sound to me, offside hind? Hopefully it's where someone massacred her foot too short and its sore? Good luck with the vet tomorrow - she is very pretty and has a kind look about her so hopefully you can work something out.

i would agree with fresianluv looking at the pony it is almost like a driving pony that has not been broke properly to ride, but been flat out in a cart, my pacer does this especially when stressed or starting to go faster and he has no phyiscal problems i now ride mine with a market harborough as no amount of schooling in the ring will stop him doing it when out hacking and it is a lot nicer to sit to when they are more rounded than stargazing hope this helps p.s jupiter also does this and he was driven on the continent but with schooling he is coming down out of the stars

I agree Gail. It looks like that pony doesn't understand the aids and was reacting to contact from your daughter. Hope it works out as he will be a lucky lad to get a home with you.

tbh, it is just like looking at Lyric when she first arrived, even now she still carries her head high occasionally but generally works in a much better outline when Sami works with her. Lyric also gave the impression of being very very green, she has however, been very well schooled at some point and I suspect been used as a broodmare for quite a while before being imported over here (she had only been in the country a couple of days when we got her). I suspect because of their nature they come across as being a bit bolshy/pushy until they get used to you but Lyric settled after a few weeks and is gorgeous. Good luck with her, she is lovely.

Sorry but the mare is lame and should be looked at by a vet , or heartless as it may seem, think about returning her before your warranty runs out (although a dealer who sells lame horses, is probably going to be a nightmare on any refund/exchange). Sorry not to be more positive, but the little mare looks in pain and unsound

I couldnt see if she was lame or not as am at work and the video kept stopping and starting but what i did see was a pony that was confused and being held back on a tight contact which will have forced her head up anyway (sorry no criticism its not easy to hold a pony that is trying to sod off id advise that jamie gives with her hands and just sees what will happen ) The bits I saw she didnt look unsound just disunited which I would expect if the pony doesnt really know what they are doing, but better to get a vet out and check her -

the vet is coming this afternoon chrissie so we will see, they are a good equine vet too, so if theres anything to find im sure they will, if it turns out theres a problem i just hope im not in for a battle with the dealer, i did put a post up on a couple of boards and didnt get any negatives about them so they arent well known for selling lame horses, i hope im not the first and that we can sort this quickly, as she is very quickly settling in...

Jamielee did have a hold of her gem, which is what made me think teeth, she is pretty responsive to the leg but did think about tanking so i guess jamie-lee was a little more tense than she would be normally, she did release when elsa listened. When jamie-lee tried her out and we saw her ridden, it was in a contact but i think she doesnt understand..she was also hacked out and was cantered by the side of a road...hmmm roll on 3pm.
