My boy loves juicy pears, hates bananas, likes apples and horse treats. You can get a load of horse treat recipes on ebay that you can make yourself. I've got them somewhere - we made them into a booklet and sold them for riding club funds. I'm sure I could email them to you if that's the sort of thing you mean. Never give them chocolate. Hope this helps

sherb loves most veg, can't get his head round bananas, most other fruit he likes, my hat is always a favourite and hatty's tail. he he. btw, the question isn't that stupid, it's one that it took me a while to fully figure out!
ernie, why never give them chocolate? I've seen loads of people do it. Is it poisonous to them?

Are you talking concentrates as opposed to natural bulk feed?

Chocolate is toxic to horses as it is to dogs, VERY bad for them.
Mine would do anything for a good old polo.

Try not to feed Malaga treats because he was a bit nippy but now I'm trying to teach him to have treats without nipping.I use apples on him. Sarah-lee was the only one who used to get the occasional tit bit because she knew how to accept them gracefully and not mug you for them.I used Polo Mints on her but I don't think she's allowed them at The Horse Trust because of their "No feeding the equines" policy.

A good Swede or turnip can be good. My auntie used to hang one up in stable for her horse. Long as it is not junk food, then try it.

Mine loves brocolli and lucozade. My old pony was once pictured in horse and pony magazine eating sarnies, tomatos and crisps. Or what about good old fashioned sugar lumps!!!

my mare decided it would be a good idea to eat the cover off my trailer today!! She flapped it around waving her head and scared all the others to death .... Im sure I heard her laugh!! She also likes The buttons off my coat anything hanging up outside the stable the plastic cover on the handles of the wheelbarrow my whip her headcollar and leadrope. Her saddle and her feed bucket. She hates straw, farriers formula and isnt too keen on ponynuts .... oh and wormers. If you give alot of fruit just make sure there is no problem with lami cos of the hidden sugar. Not tried woodlice yet though urgh!!
