We have decided that the time has come to sell our welsh pony Section B, my son is too big and my daughter is only 3. Pumpkin is 12.2, sweet natured, won in hand from a youngster, she is now 5 was backed last year and lightly ridden off the lead rein and on it with my daughter onboard. We had intended to show her and do lead rein classes with her but lack of time and funds to buy her a proper saddle have made us decide that she needs to go to a proper useful home. So she is broken in, good to load, vaccinated and regularly wormed, ok with farrier if he isn't hammering shoes on her feet. She had mild laminitis in Spring but was sound again within a fortnight and is ok if you restrict her grazing. So how much should I advertise her for?

At this time of year maybe £700 alot more in the spring. I'll give you £500 for her I'm looking for a pony for my 9 year old daughter as our pony headshakes all summer but i have to stick to a budget of £500.

She is a very pretty girl. If you wait until Spring I was going to suggest £900-£1000

Oh great I have a pony that has decreased in value since I bought her 18 months ago!
Wonderful story of my life!

I would say anywhere between 500 and 1000 due to her age and having had the laminitis which would possibly put some people off but she is very pretty and for a showing home then maybe more. It all depends on how safe she is as if she is a 1st pony she will be worth a lot more.

Also look at her bloodlines as if they are good and she is a safe childs 1st pony then you could look around the 2k mark as 1st ponies her size are like goldust.

how much did you pay? maybe you paid over the odds? for an unbroken B i'd not pay more than £500 unless it had exceptional show potential. (guessing you paid more than that)
the laminitis does reduce the value as does the time of year. you'll get more if you wait but it basically depends on how much people want to pay, look what others are selling for.

i think she is lovely, but the fact she was backed last year, an i guess not done alot since devalues if she was hacking done a few shows an working well on flat £2000 as she is from field i would say about 650
i would pay more from an unbroken 3yo that a 6yo that had been backed and turned away an not done alot since
do you have any full body pics

Great news, paid £950 for her as her temperament is so good, had won in hand and was so easy to do. She was recommended to me through a friend. I have looked at horsequest and those that have been there and done it of similar age are on for £5000 and those similar to mine are on at £2500. Not saying that is what I expect or want for her but would have thought she would be worth more than £500! A couple of pics taken of her being ridden and one lunging.

I wasn't saying your pony was only worth £500 just that was my budget. I'm after a 4 yr old that has been lunged and sat on that needs bringing on. I would be interested to know, how many people actually buy ponies that cost £5000, the most any of my friends have paid is about £2000 and that was for a steady little jumper, that had been there, done that and bought the t-shirt. None of my other friends have spent more than a £1000 She is a pretty mare tho
