I've got Horse Follow Closely. It's beautifully photographed and you may feel an urge to go out and put feathers in your horse's mane It's a nice coffee table book, very artistic, but also has a lot of practical information too. One thing that always stood out for me and was useful was observing your horse in the field. It's dotted throughout with interesting Native American stories and sayings. It's a lovely book.

Agree entirely with Wiggy - it's a lovely book to read and good tips too - tho I think the night time exercises are a bit beyond us just now. When Tigg had his surgery, they put a plait in his mane to put his ID tag in, and I was so tempted to tuck a feather in the end!!

Im a great fan of ponyboy got horse follow closely and with the help of the DVD saw dramatic changes in one of my horses so much so she his now going out better before-and in a ponyboy bitless bridle (imported)
The simple truth about horses dvds are great as well as are the two books 'of women and horses-why is kelly not in it? Montys wife is as is May Wanless Sylva Lock and some others famous and not so famous.
All pony has done is set down the ways of the native american indians. In of women and horses two he explains this started with a project to work with native children to help them understand horses-and the way they trained them.
Monty does say he got some of his stuff from the indians.
The poetic end of horse follow closely (parting words) is a wonderful bit of text.
He comes over as a ver modist man as well
best wishes

I've always wanted to get "Horse Follow Closely". Having read the above recommendations I'm going to get on and order it from Amazon.

Echo everyone else, it's a lovely book. I borrowed it from a friend and was really sad when I had to give it back.

I've just ordered the DVD after searching for the Amazon link for a friend! I read a fantastic Native American saying a few days ago and it went something along the lines of: the reason why we are attracted to a certain kind of animal is because of what that animal can teach us. In that case, I think I'm attracted to horses because I need to learn to be calm.

Thanks ever so much Colin. I was searching on Amazon's Marketplace but couldn't find Bookfella for some reason. Going to look on Horse and Harmony now.
