Gift Copies of Perfect Confidence to Thank DGers
I’ve had my first copy of ‘Perfect Confidence – Overcoming Fear, Gaining Confidence and Achieving Success with Horses’. It looks OK really though it’s all a bit nerve wracking as this is the most ‘personal’ book yet. I’d really like to thank the DGers for all their help and inspiration when I’m writing and coming on asking questions. I’m a bit worried that if I give out these gift copies of Perfect Confidence I’m going to offend somebody (isn’t that always the way?!) because I’ve missed someone out – so I apologise unreservedly now! If you feel I’ve missed you out unfairly do complain but if you are overruled on this (by an unnamed committee) then you have to send £10 to the IH Charity of the Year (Fair?) So here’s my role of honour……(trumpets please)………..
To Lorraine Luke – for doing such a great job being head of Charity fund raising and thinking up great ideas and raising £££££
To Casper because Lorraine’s says whenever there’s a charity appeal Casper always buys something
To JennywithKite for above and beyond work on the fundraising
To RA Rosie Jones who made some great contributions and for being a wonderful ‘mentee’ (if there is such a word)
To RAs Sarah Weston, Zoe Chipman and Garry Bosworth for being excellent RA ambassadors on the IHDG
To Wozzer because she gave an inspiring story for the book
To Marianne in France who was fantastically helpful on the members when I was first ‘working the book out’
To Wendy IHTS because she’s not just our friendly face of science but made BIG contributions to the book (thank you Wendy)
To Gem because I really wanted to put a photo of the lovely Holly Bear in the book but the format wasn’t right – but in memory of Holly Bear
To Kofihorse again I loved your photo and we couldn’t get your photographers details until just too late
To Laura because hey we got it right and did use your photo – it looks great!
To MirandaSophie because she lives in Australia and they probably don’t have many books and things out there !!!
To Susan who said nice things about RA Julia Fisher for the book - but then that wouldn’t be difficult would it ?
To Liz Pitman for starting IH Kids and being a good influence on the DG
To Catrin for correcting my spellings
For Mandal who I’m advised is an all round ‘good egg’ (whatever that means) and another great influence on the DG
To Rosemary Hannah – ditto and I’ve adopted as an Auntie
To Jackie JA Taylor for her great nutritional advice (though nothing to do with eggs)
To Sue Whitmore for finding me two plastic horse heads and creating some great threads
To Heather Moffatt and Derek Clarke for their very interesting arguments (they don’t live together by the way I’ve just heaped them together) Heather for her passion. Derek for his patience. Viva la difference! All makes life on the DG interesting!
To OldMoaner whose not what he seems and to me will all will be the ‘Horseman and Dreamer’
Please can you make sure I have your name and addresses (email me at Kelly@montyroberts.co.uk or Kelly.marks@virgin.net if I don’t answer within a week! Let me know how you would like me to sign them to you i.e. DG name or real name – or if you’d prefer it unsigned so you can pass it to someone else (I won’t be offended honest!)
Thanks again.
Love
