I am looking for volunteers to help at the demo. You will need to be at the riding centre at lunchtime and you will be required until around 11pm in the evening. You will need to help to set up and may have a job such as checking tickets, taking people to their seats, manning the merchandise stand, helping with the parking etc
In exchange the Demo is free (you will be able to sit down and watch the demo..you are just needed before, during the intervals and after), you get a group photo and chat with Monty beforehand and get to see him choosing the horses for the demo in the afternoon.
Please only commit if you are sure that you are free. I only require 25 volunteers.
If I can find somewhere to stay the night nearby I'll be there. I live about 3 hours or so north of Montauban and just don't feel I'll be able to drive home - I've helped out in the UK before and know how tiring it is (in a good way!).
Gill..normally there'd be no problem staying with me but I think my whole family are coming from the Uk to see the demo so I won't have a spare bed. However I'm sure someone around me will put you up. I'm about an hour west of Montauban so I don't know if that makes the trip home the next day a nightmare. Email me your details to firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll see if one of the local volunteers will put you up.
Cavalier.. can you email me your contact details and the details of the stallion to email@example.com
Back from the USA. It was absolutely fantastic. We got to work with wild mustangs which was amazing.
Here are more details for the demo about how to get tickets and also the number to call if you have a horse to propose for the demo:
I believe the demo will begin at 7pm and tickets are 40 euros.
There will be a VIP ticket costing 55 euros which will allow you to enter at 3pm and spend the afternoon watching Monty select the horses for the evening demo. Generally he will look at 10 horses and select 4 for the evening. He often works with the others in the afternoon.
Tickets can be obtained by calling 06-34-17-85-01 (english and french spoken)
If anyone has a horse to propose for the demo then please telephone the same number. For example do you have a genuine youngster that is ready for starting, an impossible loader, a bucker, one terrified of clippers, difficult having their feet handled etc? The venue has stabling.
There are plenty of hotels in Montauban, if people don't want a long journey home, and at the moment you can get some really good bargains but I wouldn't leave it too long to book.
I'd be grateful if you could pass this info on to as many people as possible and post it on any forums that you take part in.
