I went riding once in Elmley Castle at a riding school there, and used to go to a pub there which was very old and spooky!. We should all meet up, but it looks like there are just 3 of us! Which I know there isn't

Hi Staffsmum - that must have been quite a while back I should imagine - alas we have gone from 3 pubs to none now! Hopefully the Queen Elizabeth may re-open. It is a great riding area with access on to Bredon Hill - try coming over again if you like! Alison

Hi Worcs DGers, just to let you know that Gem and I (plus friends) went up Bredon Hill this morning and it was fab! Set off 8.30am and it was beautiful - very steep climb but the view over the Vale was fantastic - also at that time of the day not too hot! Was so pleased with Gem - he was so good! Had a blast up the banks and although he is a "roarer" he coped extremely well! Off to a Pleasure Ride next week at Winchcombe - did it last year and it was really good! Anybody else going?!! AJB

Being an extremely boring person just thought I would let you know that me plus other half and our new puppy went up to Spring Hill Horse trials today. New puppy was so good! She is only 12 weeks old - cocker spaniel - and hardly batted an eyelid at the horses, dogs, people etc! She had such a fuss made of her. However, on the riding note I must say the only horse I saw on the XC I could have sworn at!! Spring Hill is an extremely hilly course and you need a very very fit horse to do it - I know have hunted around there! Silly chap riding a very nice TB was practically at a jog coming up last hill to home and poor horse was "booted" over the last even though he looked completely pooped! Caught the fence with his stifle and almost did a cartwheel - chap was very lucky to stay on board! What a prat! Hope the BE steward saw it! IMHO needs reminding about horse fitness from BE steard. On a lighter note watched the fabulous Mary King ride an impeccable dressage and s/j round on her homebred mare. Do you realise she has been at the top of eventing for over 20 years - gosh what a star and a thoroughly nice lady too! Hats off to her! Puppy has slept now for 3hours solid!! AJB

I'm in Worcestershire! Astley, near Stourport. I have just hosted a Sue Brown clinic and she is coming back in October to do spook busting! I was organising a training/pleasure ride for EGB next week but have had to cancel due to flood damage. I have three horses and my main interest is endurance. I also enjoy schooling and hacking and am interested in issues around barefoot as one of mine has been happily barefoot for years, another has long periods of barefoot but sometimes is shod for competing, and the other is transitioning at the moment.

Is anyone going to the pleasure ride and clear round jumping at Lincomb cross country course on 23rd September? Entry forms are available in Equmix in Stourport. I shall be going with Sundance, accompanied by two friends, one on a young Arab and one on a lovely grey Arab stallion.

No, I would of loved to have gone but its my daughters Christening and I don't think hubby would be too pleased , its already been cancelled once because of the floods! Bunnybits-Jack is coming on lovely, his back was out and he had 2 blind wolf teeth out yesterday! Bless him, he looked so sad but bet he will feel better tomorrow! ;D
