i posted on the general thread but had no response so thought I'd try my 'local' area. Henry can start being brought back into ridden work again after being off work since feb/march due to his terrible feet. We're going to go VERY slowly and treat him as though he is just being started but before I do anything I need to get his back checked.
Can anyone recommend a good chiroprator in the Herts area - recommendations for other types of practioners would also be helpful. Thanks.

Hi
I use Margie Craib - I've not got her no. to hand but sure you can find her on the internet - either under Margie Craib or McTimoney.

Ooh, Margie gave a talk at the Beds BHS AGM last week; she was VERY good. I checked out the McT website for practitioners & although it doesn't say who does animals & who doesn't, Margie was on there. She's been qualified for 20+ years. I've had a Sarah-Jane I think from Newmarket highly recommended & she was on list & Dana Green who's based near Olney I think. Have used her in the past. Then Peter Arnold is an osteo - I think - near Hitchin. I know a lot of people use him. I did once in conjunction with a lot of other people a few years ago now. I think he does a good job, but I had a problem with his attitude! I can't think of anyone else local, but they do all travel miles anyway. And of course Dr Dave comes over from the US to treat horses at Junes yard once or twice a year! Good luck with whoever you use, and if you do some regular maintenance (massage & stretching, long lining etc) it will all help him regain strength and work properly again. Margie recommended quite a few useful tips, most of which I had already been doing over the years, but a few new ones too & a different take on others.

Many thanks to both of you. That's three separate recommendations I've had for Margie Craib now, so I shall certainly get in touch with her, though I don't know much about McTimoney so will need to look into that a bit as well.
rj thanks as well for the other suggestions, I shall certainly look into them if I can't get in touch with Margie.
i shall let you know how we get on.

I use Sam from Back in Line in Herts (www.back-in-line.com) she is a mctimoney equine chiropractor and is absolutely brilliant. I notice this thread is an old one but thought I would post anyway in case it helps anyone else with same question!
