Can anyone give me a recommendation for a good equine vet who covers the Basingstoke area? Thanks

I dont know whether the Liphook Equine Hospital go as far as Basingstoke, I think they do, they are very good. Or there is a very good one in Newbury, cant think what they are called off the top of my head, but if you try yell.com, they will be on there.

Thanks, both. Liphook doesn't cover that far out. I'll pass on your recommendation, DD. Thanks for the PM

I can recommend 'Hampshire Vets' who are in Alton I think (they cover us in Reading) - both vets I have had out from there have been great and open-minded (and not bad to look at either!! ;-) - It does help to make a visit from a vet a little more appealing! Lol!). I will PM you the number.

Thanks, Louise. Although I'm sure that the eye-appeal of a vet would have absolutely nothing whatsover to do with my contact wanting to use them....

More thanks. The contact is my trimmer, who needs a good vet for a client of hers. She's spoken to McGonnall and Gillat, really liked them on the phone and they're coming out tomorrow.

Clive Hamblin - very good family friend and also one of the best vets in the country, think he covers basingstoke!

OGorman Slater and Main cover B'stoke I think, although it does depend on who you get - not all vets are created equal it seems.
(I have taken umbrage with the bedside manner of a couple of the OGorman vets recently although most of them have been brilliant and I have lots of confidence in them in general.)
Andrew McGonnall used to work for OGormans before he set up on his own - and Andrew is fantastic.

I am thrilled with my new vets. Stable Close Equine Practice is at Martyr Worthy near Winchester. They have a website. I found them through needing AI experts and also laminitis help. They are terrific in every way. 01962 779111
