Hi Selina - I'm just up the road from Lynn. We are near Winchester, but from Portsmouth it's closer than it sounds, as you just go thru Wickham & Bishops Waltham & there you are!
But I grew up in Portsmouth, so know it very well. A friend of mine & I got to know each other when she was at Portsmouth Uni - she used to come out to us, and get her horsey fix when she could, while away from home, as her horses were at home, not uni.
Do you have horses, and are they down here with you?

Anyone not only interested in Natural Horsemanship but interested in Western Riding?

I ride Western, albeit for pleasure only. I competed a little bit with my AppX mare a few years ago. She sadly had to be put sleep after an accident in her field.
I've now gone back to my roots and own a very cheeky NF gelding, who I ride in a Western treeless. I ride mostly for pleasure these day's so have lost touch with the Western competition scene.
I'm based in Fair Oak (again not far from Lynn) and have taken Tufty (the NF) to her place on a couple of occassions, both times were of great benefit.
I like this forum, it's good to hear about people in our local area.

How did you get into learning Western riding? do you like it? I bought an AQH youngster last year and spent all of the summer going through the Kelly M ground work, she even wore her tarpalin ...she is now in training but it worries me as I am more from the natural way. I am pondering over whether to bother making hay with my 4 acre paddock this year, or spend money getting it into fenced paddocks and letting it out, which would be more hassle? I have lessons over at Mayfield spend 5 hours getting there and back plus lesson once a week; I do like the way western is so light compared to English.....I too am only looking for a nice hack trail rides and fun......where do you ride? where did you get lessons? very interested...

My horse is still up north and i miss her loads. And im left here without anything cute and furry 2 cuddle lols. I love natural horsemanship and would love to take up western riding again lols. At the minute with me being at uni i cannot practice these things as my horse is miles away. Nice to know there are people nearby. My ex lives in winchester lols.

Hi Selina,
I am in the New Forest (Brockenhurst), just along the coast from you. I have two horses - you are welcome to come and cuddle or play with them anytime. They aren't rideable (yet!) though.
