Hi,
As you may know i've been building up my confidence riding Hanni in fields recently (had a nice sensible canter today after a trot no bucks!!). He has been great and now my nerves seem to be non exisit (almost!) Lets hope there isn't a hitch soon! I have to give him a lot of credit though as we have been riding out with a very sharp frisky spooky pony! Today's hack ended with Hanni having to nanny this pony twice! First we were hacking on a road and a dog suddenly starting barking behind a bush so Toddy went sideways almost hitting a car...so Hanni went in fron for a while to calm Toddy. Hanni didn't blink an eye lid! Then on the way home on a main road these two horses in a field charged across towards us behind hedges and all I saw was Toddy's hind legs tremor and then suddenly he turns around to bolt in the opposite direction meanwhile Hanni doesn't have a clue what is going on...so we went in front again and calmed Toddy down :-) feel so proud of him in a crisis I always feel safe on him :-)

Looking after someone else is a lateral approach to gaining confidence. It gets my mind off my own difficulties for sure. Well done. Sounds like a very challenging ride!

Thanks everyone. Kanga that is totally true. Someone elses dangerous situation made me realise mine wasn't and that I needed to be confident for all of us!Especially as the girl on the other pony is only 11!
