My cheeky shettie has developed the nasty habit of trying to bite me when asked to trot up. He never bites at home so I'm putting it down to nerves / excitment although he is absolutley fine until we step foot in the ring!
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to cure this?

I hold the show cane halfway down and so its pointing towards their nose. If they try and bite you they will prod themselves in the nose.

Thanks Native Ponies - may be a daft question but which hand should I hold the cane in then - the one closest or furthest away from the likkle devil?
