Miranda ---read Lovleylace's thread about what browband etc in it we've written what you should do in your show. It's the same sort of show as a hack would do only you must include a gallop down the long side of the ring as a Riding horse would do. The judge will ride your horse as well as you doing a show, unless the show is very small. Which showare you going to?

OK...
You: Arab riders can wear tweed or navy, though tweed is more common at higher levels. A pale cooured shirt, tie, beige/ canary breeches, long black leather boots, spurs/ dress spurs, brown leather gloves, bown leather whip/ cane.
Hore : Straight cut brown leather saddle, plain coloured girth (pref leather), fairly fine bridle to suit head with snaffle/ double/ pelham with 2 reins, coloured browband. Reains should be plain, plaited or laced. Mane and tail left long and loose, only clear hoof oil allowed, no trimming of whiskers
This is just the ideal - what tack and clothing do you have at the moment? As long s you look smart and wormanlike you'll be fine In the class you will walk, trot and canter together on the right rein, change the rein and canter (possibly gallop) on the other rein. Then pulled in. The juudge might ride, but probably not at a local show. If he doesn't then you do an individual show to include trot and canter on each rein and a gallop/extention.
Good luck!

Also the thread for PBA showing, that went quite in depth too.
Are you pure or PB arab? If pure mane and tail as Sat.Girl says but if Part then most def. pulled and plaited mane and same with tail. But those 2 threads were greatly in depth so saves typing it all over again.

OK your jacket will be fine, I would reccomend shoving the shirt in the wash with a few chea dusters which will make it a nice creamy colour Is there anyway you could borrow gaitors/ long leather boots? White gloves are a bit of a no no for showing - a cheap cotton apir of brownones are only about £2! Your saddle and girht would be fine, if you need to us e anumnah then find something discreet and preferably brown. Bridle isn't ideal But if you can't borrow anything don't worry - it's only a local show and your doing it for fun Fraid so with the no trimming rule - I know arab owners who get very annoyed!
