Hi Lynz....Nice mare She might make a nice ridden Cob if you were to hog her and clip the legs, trim her up etc?? All depends on how she moves though really?? Rather than hogging her mane off though...you could always just try plaiting her for the cob class, and wait and see what comments you get back from the judges before to get the clippers out!! LOL That way, if the responce from them is good, they will also advise you which classes you could enter??? ;D

thanks dippymare id prefer not to hog her mane unless i have to as she detests fly rugs and masks. so will try plaiting her first . i thought that the hight limit for ridden cob was 15.1? or doesn't it matter at local shows?

The height limit doesn't really matter for local shows, and even for affiliated there are now maxi cob classes for overhiehgt cobs. However I would not enter a cob class, even at local level with a plaited mane If you are really adamant you don't want to hog then you could pull and plait her mane and do the ridden hunter/ general ridden showing class. You wuld also need to trim her legs, head and pull her tail and cut it to just below the hocks. Best of luck with her
