He is lovely, very handsome! 53% not bad at all for no canter, just think how those marks will shoot up when he's ready to canter in a test! And well done for not rushing him and doing too much, nice to see someone willing to sacrifice marks for the sake of the horse

Well Done. Sorry to sound thick but are you allowed to trot the canter bits then??? Or is it just a walk and trot test??? I am asking as I want to do some dressage with Harly BUT....... We too are not cantering at shows yet, He thinks it way to exciting and has a bucking fit!!!! Thanks Pip.xx

Pip, you can miss out the canter bits in a test with canter in, you just sacrifice the marks. But you ought to tell the judge first, otherwise they will pip their horn thinking that you have forgotten the canter bit!

Thanks guys, I'm really pleased as you can tell!
Pip, when i enter the areana and i tell the judge/write my name I say I'm awfully sorry but he's to young and hasn't learnt to canter yet, would it be possible if we trot the canter work?
As long as you are polite, i have never had a problem, and i find that I get really encoraging remarks as they realise he is a baby.
Give it a go, as long as they know they won't beep at you!
