I can't belive it!!!
I went to my first show ever, and actually entered!!!
I think I may be mad.
anyway, I was going with my friend debbie and her pony oscar but she wanted to enter him in a family equine class, and you could only have a snaffle bridle. he's ridden in a kimblewick and a standing martingale, she tried a snaffle, and he went mental. so to the show alone wen't I!!! (debbie came, but only watched)
well, ebony was fab, but I was soooo nervous!!! I did enter in the end, in the family equine class, no jumping required. I wanted to enter the pony club under 15.2, that had jumping. but the ground was really hard!
well, I finally went in and got round. but it wasn't great!!! ebony refused to canter, and nearly ran into a horse in the line-up when she bucked as i kicked her and I lost my stirrup! generally, not good at all! but at least it was experience. I came 6th. which wasn't totally awful, got a nice pink and purple rosette.
I have decided to go mostly for jumping and cross-country rather than showing. not my thing (showing, that is) and we both prefer jumping.
anyway, piccies. heres the best one of ebony standing nicely with her head down (looks a bit overbent, but i think its just the camera angle) if i'm smiling, its a painted on face. i was terrified.
and this is the horse that won, he was quite a plod, but thats what you want for family equine.
and heres me in the line up, (I'm on the black horse in the middle!) the grey came 5th, nice highland pony.
I will get carried away, so I'll stop now!!!
