I really like it, great day out, lots to see! I always eat too much, spend too much and get sunburned - perfect day really when combined with all the horses and other animals! Unfortunately I'm not going this year due to work commitments. Well worth a visit though, especially if you've never been before!

i went a couple of years ago, and it was too hot too busy and too expensive! Wouldn't go again personally, prefer the local shows round about.

Agree that it is expensive, even more to get in on the gate than at the Royal. I went a couple of years ago to spectate and got the tickets early to get a discount. A good show, it seemed as if everyone in Harrogate went for a day out, as one the gate is next to the houses. It went on very late, you did not get chucked out at 6.00 p.m. and there was show jumping into the evening with a big crowd watching. I liked the Hound Show and there were lots of nice stalls to buy things from! They had some interesting classes like the coach driving, you don't see that very often. They also had a big screen up and when the Army was giving a display (The Commanding Office was a lady) I could see the horses come round the corner and went "What!" - they could see themselves on the screen, but they all behaved well.
I might go again sometime, but would want to get advanced tickets.

It can be expensive - I always feel that you need more than one day as it is quite a large show to cover in one day. My horses Sire won the Hackney class last year! Yipee!

It's one of my very favourite shows and I used to go on the Tuesday to watch the heavy horses being judged. It's great there because you can sit in a grandstand and watch Shires and Clydesdales judged right in front of you in two adjacent rings. Sadly I now work on a Tuesday and can't go. Mood not helped by OH arriving home tonight and announcing he IS going tomorrow with his partner from work!

I'm looking forward to a visit on Wednesday! I love all the bustle of the big shows. Its not quite the Royal Highland but the next best thing!

Just come back.had a good day and not spent too much.I always feel really disillusioned though when I see all those lovely well behaved horses then come home to my lame and useless lot
