I'm going to organise a show down our yard just for the liveres, I thought of doing a lead rein test (we have 5 little kiddies to do this class, just for fun!) i'd never heard of lead rein dressage before until I saw a results page in our local nag rag, anyway, I thought of then doing an easy prelim for the rest of us, i'm pretty sure the'll be at least 10 of us taking part. A few of us have different instructors and I know that at least one of the instructors (inc mine) would be able to judge but I dont think thats at all fair, i'd rather have an outside person, how much would someone charge for a mornings work?, Obviously we are going to have entry fee's to cover rosettes & pay for the judge, then we was going to donate any extra to our local pony sanctury.

They usually just ask for travel expenses (40p a mile) and are happy to get a bottle of wine or box of choccies and a nice lunch if they stay over lunch time.

I don't think they do charge, but you offer "expenses" which is travelling and give them food and drink.

The ones I have booked just want petrol reimbursing. Some charge a fee £8 an hour or something?

We run unaffiliated dressage shows with local dressage judges, they don't have to be affiliated dressage judges, but you can get a list of listed judges.
They don't charge us, we perhaps give them a token to say thank you, a bottle of wine or choc's. They often judge 20 - 30 in a class. They enjoy the day and we do provide them with lunch and drinks all day.
If you are doing british dressage tests then you can get the test sheets from the british dressage for 10p each.
