Anyone know of anywhere that is in the South/South East/South West that you can take your horse on holiday? We need to escape the dreaded Fireworks over New Year and are looking for somewhere we can take our 4 horses (2 small ones and two medium) and the dog. 30th Dec to 2nd Jan ideally. Must be rural and quiet and have turn out though we can bring our own electric fence, feed, haylage etc. Stables would be good but not vital. Just peace and quiet and no fireworks! Please respond with any ideas. We'd be happy to camp or sleep in the lorry just as long as the horses are happy

We've got a spare field - no good grass on it but it is green. You would most likely be able to get basic B& B on site. No stables - sorry. This private estate is by the Thames a 10 min walk form Henley.

Oh dear Roo, I do feel for you, I hate fireworks where horses are concerned. We've got a very good Equine Tourism website for the South West, this link will take you straight to you the accomodation (with and without horse) listings, I would recommend Exmoor and the Quantocks both stunning and lots of lovely riding! www.equinetourism.co.uk/accommodation/accommfrontpage.htm

Thanks Roz - I've had a good look round that web site and the two places I tried (as they werent too far away) were sadly full. Great site though for future holidays
