Thought I'd share some pics from my first rides this year on my two (rideable) horses!
well, actually, second ride on Graham 'cos I rode him the other day oh well
So, Ebony, 2nd January, out for a hack in our new hi viz!!
btw I look chunky because I have my body protector on under my tabard
Ready to go and wrapped up warm (don't you think that jumper goes well with the pink?? lol), but the horse is being a moo-bag and won't pose! lol
Lookin' pretty (but I didn't, lol)
aaaaand, they're off! at top speed
Now Graham, I rode him in the school yesterday, but today I decided to ride him around bareback in the 'yard' (ha) mostly because I only had half an hour before we had to go out and it takes ages to clean and dry his feet (finding them under the mud is hardest!) to put his boots on, and then tack him up, and then hi-viz him, and by that time we'd have had to leave so bunged a bridle on, picked his feet out and voila! genius
pretty boy (well, hairy beastie! Not bad for his first winter living out though )
look at this! on concrete and 100% sound! Luv my pone (his feet are doing really well btw!)
He doesn't look too skinny does he? He's a 12yr old tb and its his first winter living out, he has a hw rug, he lost a bit of weight earlier on, but has put it back on, what do you think?
Do you think my horse is a bit bum high, officer? LOL we were climbing over a big bump that just happens to be there and he stopped bless
I don't want this to turn into a 'bareback' thread, I only walked and for a short amount of time and I don't think it was hurting him in any way or I wouldn't do it. I'm pretty used to riding bareback (even though I don't look it in some of the pics ) and I know him and would have known if he was upset. He was chilled as usual
But do you think I look too big for him?? he's 15.3 and I'm 5'9 and 8.8 stone, I'm bringing him back into work after a 6 year break in case no one knows (although I talk about him enough!) I've had him since the end of september and we're still walking, trotting and gentle hacking to build up his fitness and strength. He's doing brilliantly
Sorry about the state of him, he's a grey! what else can I say
