I pay about £30 a month for Dolly with NFU. She's insured for £2000. Dylan's insured with Pet Plan for £250 which costs £18 a month.
Both ponies are covered for vets fees up to £5000 and third party liability to £1,000,000. I've not bothered with Loss Of Use cover for either as I think it's worthless and both ponies are insured for everything from "At Grass" to "Local Shows and Le Trec".

The difficulty to answer this is it depends on your own values, what cover you wish and how much public libility you have. Note tack cover with many is worthless if in a livery yard and not in brick building with 5 lever mortice locks and limited people using it.
I suggest you ask for specimin policy to check out exactually what you get not just the words on the front, look at it fully. I dont know how old you are but if younger get your parents to double check it as well. If done online you can see the policy, NFU dont do online at this time, unless changed recently but their offices are very helpful. I use NFU.
NFU tend to have clear policy and word it very clear, other are not so transparent.
Note E&L are not normal monthly premiums as in calander monts x 12 but lunar months that is every 28 days so you effectivly pay out 13 payments so not as cheap as it appears. They are not so liked by many and often vets dont like dealing with them. I can only say the once I dealt with them they were very good, helpful and paid out.

Scottish Equestrian - insured for £2,000; vet fees up to £4000 (unlimited incidents), Alternative therapies/transport to horsepital included. £19 per month. No liability as most people are covered by their home insurance anyway (check) or BHS membership. Have used them for years and had a couple of big claims (including a death ) and they've paid up fine and are great to deal with.

Hi,
I'm with Equestrian Direct for my 18 yo mare - I pay the higher price for the veteren cover as they then treat her until the age of 21 as if she was a youngster i.e I get all the vets cover not just external injuries.
Also included is PI for about 1 million, dental for me, also covers anyone riding her with my permission, I have hospitalisation fees for about £1k per incident and vets fees up to £5k per incident - she is insured for £2k.
