Can anyone suggest what I could do with my 19 month old filly. She currently still lives with her mum and auntie but I am now pregnant (half way) and need to loan my mare out.
I would like to split them up now as the yearling is getting a bit full of herself and I think needs to learn her manners.
I would like to put her somewhere for a year or two until she is ready to be broken and backed. Has anyone got any suggestions of where might be suitable! Thanks

id maybe look at getting her into a herd if its at all possible, prefrably a permanant one where they are established, im using my own herd as an eg, my brood mare is mum to all of mine and any visiting neddies atm its 10, she teaches them more about manners that i ever could, its made my jobs 10 time easier to teach both my babies to be handled by me with respect from them towards me, has tought the visiting one how to be horses and respect space, maybe have a look round at some places that have this kind of set up in your area, that will handle her daily but let her live like a horse

It would be good to discuss it further with you. Your set up sounds exactly what I'm looking for - are you able to give me a guide to how much monthly you would be looking at to have her?
