any idea of where i should start looking for them?
or indeed anyone know of any? im looking for somewhere within an hours commute of where i am at uni (Brackenhurst 14miles out side of Notts). erm i want somewhere with between 10-20 acres grazing, under 8ish stables (mine live out most of the yr so i could cope with 4ish) and a school of some discription. doesnt have to be posh or pretty just functional. i will be wanting to run a buisness from the grounds and i will have a miniature stallion moving there therefore that must be allowed.

We used to go knocking doors of local farmers etc.. Word of mouth is usually the best way especially if you can put the idea to someone who wouldn't necessarily have thought about renting out an area that maybe isn't be used. There are local agents who advertise on the net for people who want to rent out acreage and yards, but then of course, you will have to pay the premium for that. Good luck with your search.

Try putting adverts in local agricultural suppliers and The farmers guardian newspaper, you could also try farmers weekly online. also ask estate agents who sell country properties. Good Luck.

Oh no, has the yard you and Clair found fallen through? That one looked pretty good.

i decided against that yard as there were no schooling facilities and there were non close by and as i have one baby needing backing and hopefully one day will need to get back on Ryan i decided i needed access to a school and would also like a riding buddy and that yard had no other yards nearby.
ba.... blidworth would be a perfect location!!!! (with fantasic hacking too) do you have any idea about how i would find ourt about land round there?

That makes a lot of sense Sophie. Didn't realise it didn't have a school TBH. Good luck in finding the right yard, the Blidworth one sounds interesting.

down blidworth bottoms, along Rickets lane and down near Haywood Oaks i have seen pockets of land for rent. Of course more investigation would be needed to see if they would suit your purpose. Most are just fields or fields with stables, so you may have to make a school. However there are lots of livery yards and riding schools that have schools and good facilities to hire. I would literally take a drive past and knock on doors. Hope that helps, the hacking is fab around there too.
