And having moved completely O/T to the good things!- this is the wonderful thing about forums like IH, EE and Max's forum, in that they bring like minded people together, from every far flung corner of the earth, to spread the word of a kinder way to ride and train the horse, and to support each other in this effort, in a way in which we could never have dreamed of, even barely more than a decade ago.

I cant think of one bad thing.. Monty opened up a new world for me when I watched him working with the Queens horses and I have never looked back.. It brought me Julia my riding instructor of RWYM and being a RA, is how June discovered her, that was another key to me door..
The forum opened my eyes to a horse can go unshod.. and I have made so many friends and discovered so many other great people like Mark Rashid and Tom Widdicombe together with Monty and Kelly and their great words of wisdom and advice.. I know I am a better horse women because of it and have a super support of friends.. I wonder often where would I be now without it!

Donning gas mask tin hat and chemical flame proof suit Off to catch my naught helicopter Can you throw me a rope because I don't like RWYM either or the fact that it's promoted at the IH/Monty demos. Whilst I do follow Heather's methods now I spent a long time trying to find something that was 'right' for me. I'm not convinced that ANY method should be promoted by IH unless they are saying that THIS is the method that they recommend and use in their training. Being linked to a specific method can be counter productive as it could put people off the excellent groundwork. For example, even if I didn't know anything about PNH there is no way that I would consider it as a valid option having seen the 'Riding In Fluidity'. I just find all the analogies in RWYM mind boggling and the one lesson that I had wasn't a success. Maybe I should have given it more of a chance but it just didn't make sense to me at all. Maybe I'm just simple though Now move that helicopter, em-merrie, and get a move on will you

Hi Bay Mare, we don't advertise MW at demos but do put about her in LP. I'm not sure I agree with a one size fits all IH riding approach - but MW has suited some people well. I think Heather's style is very IH Friendly i.e. kind and fair to horse and rider - I think that's got to be the main criteria - thing is she might be quite different in style from the AB FAB (to my mind) Pat Burgess - Pat's a jumping teaching but again totally follows the horse friendly criteria.

Hi Bay Mare, we don't advertise MW at demos but do put about her in LP because she gives money off to IH members and seems not to bully horse or rider. I'm not sure I agree with a one size fits all riding approach - but MW has suited some people well. How about we recommend or rather suggest you try, anyone that seems horse friendly? Rather than saying you have to ride THIS way?

Think it's a bit unfair to involve "bad IH" in things outside IH control!

Thanks Kelly, and agree, anything that is 'horse friendly' has got to be a step in the right direction! That is what we are all aiming for!
