The ideas, the courses, the books, the zip up navy fleece, the brown jacket, Ramsden Village Hall, the Listening Post, two Duallys, a false arm and a forked tree branch, the people in the office, Donna, Jennie with Kite, K'GR'G, Yann, Garry, Eileen and Julie, John and Yvonne, Sarah Fox, Thor, Lady Grey tea bags, Jet Black ... some things at random, that have become part of my life, for a day, a week or forever since getting to know IH.
Best of all, knowing when I wear my IH cap, I am not doing anything contrary to the instructions.

I defy anyone to come on here and not laugh at at least one thread that will cheer you up or go away with a new piece of infomation that you didnt know before. eileen xx

ih stops me moaning at yard mates because of all the different opinions i can get without being biased by feeling i have to take someones. it also gives me the oppotrunity to hear different ponits of view in the same way, so i can become more tollerant towards others opinions.

I like that IH deals with the horse as an individual rather than using a 'one size fits all' philosophy. If the horse doesn't understand the question is asked in a different way rather than louder. There is no requirement to do something that you don't think will be beneficial to that particular horse.
Financially IH is accessible. You don't need specific items before you can start training and can get away with your standard headcollar, lead rope and lunge lines/long reins. Even if you get an RA out or come on one of the courses you don't need to take out a second mortgage.
You're not actively discouraged from looking or using other methods and using them as part of your tool kit.
It makes sense and the horses are encouraged to retain their personalities.

When I asked a RA to come and help me with my horse she took the time to listen our problems, and the time to listen to what I had to say about my horse as an individual and his little ways etc.
1. They work with the owner and the horse. 2. The horse is not abused, hit or shouted at, just asked in a different way. 3.The RAs are happy to discus things over the phone, this only cost you a phone call.

1. The fact that it is an on going way of dealing with a horse, a change in the handler/rider forever, rather than go to a local horse beater, get one problem sorted then wonder where the new problem came from? When a pony/horse has been handled properly this way, ANYONE can do almost anything with it forever, so the horse ends up being a polite helpful animal that dosent start getting whacked when it changes hands. Some of the old fixes are rather like crash dieting to lose weight. You just get the weight off really fast but cant keep it off as soon as you come off the crash diet. The IH way of dealing with a horse is like totally changing your lifestyle/eating habits forever so the weight just stays off without having to keep crash dieting. To my mind, the crash diet can be likened to the big bully knocking a horse to do what the handler wants! 2. This IHDG! Never spent so much time on here since I had my foot chopped up, Im on box rest and it may just have stopped me picking up some nasty vices. 3. The people, once opened up to the new ideas seem to then accept other alternative things and ideas more easily and you can now be a bit more confident you dont get laughed out loud at!

I want to know what goes on in Ramsden Village hall now then ? ? It's not there any more, Kelly had it removed to Lambourn so she could have a lie in. I did my first 'power walk' outside of Ramsden Village Hall, it was my last one too.

IHDG is Great.
If we put it in the back of our minds that what ever we do is To Make the World A Better Place For Horses To Live In and realize everyday and every moment of our lives with Horses we are learning something from them that is great what do we need more. This DG is a great place for helping others and get your questions answered what do we need more where could we find something like this to help us in any way we possibly could think of?
Bless you all. PH.
