Don't know about coloured - but I don't think Centyfield would bother standing a stallion who wasn't GOOD! They also know their stuff and shipped semen should be good quality. At YOUR end, I'd talk to Jonathon Pycock - probably THE best repro vet in the country - who is in North Yorkshire. www.pycock.co.uk/ (He won't be the cheapest, but AI can work out VERY expensive if you don't have a very good vet managing the process.)

I went to see a horse for loan from Centyfield, she was gorgeous, not sure why I chose Sherb but we bat on. I know absolutely nothing about breeding, conformation or anything like that but I think he looks stunning.

Milky Way has gone back to his owners in Germany and will not be standing in this country next year. However if you do want to use a dilute stallion how about a perlino? There is one much nearer you - Alba - standing in Cheshire: www.halonasportshorses.co.uk/He will produce palomino and buckskin (dun) foals only depending on what colour the mare carries. A perlino is basically a double dilute bay, whereas a cremello is a double dilute chestnut. If you prefer a cremello how about Vangelis: www.colourthyme-stud.com/vangeliscremellostallion.htmHe stands in Hampshire

I have to say Im not overly impressed with either of those two.Personally I think it would be far better to forget the colour that way you could find a much better stallion. Im sure some people think they are great, just my personal opinion, but I think you could get much better conformation.

I'm afraid I'm not the one to ask about breeding for colour. My first consideration in breeding has always been conformation and temperament, and colour is secondary. Personally I wouldn't use any of those stallions whatever colour they were, but we all have different ideas. Sorry,I can't be more help.

thanks again everyone all comments appreciated. please all be aware though that although i am wanting a palomino foal i am absolutely not prepared to have a second rate stallion just for the colour. So I am open to all suggestions of quality stallions (from those who have seen the mare).

Sue - What you would get from Hamlet is a very nice beautifully tempered foal, even if it wasn't spotty - he's an absolute gent.

I already get nice, beautifully tempered foals. Just fancied a spotty part Luso, like the real old classical illustrations. My own stallion has a wonderful temperament - even my non-horsey husband can handle him, much to my amazement, and he's scared of the mares. TBH, I think Uranio takes pity on him.....
