erm. could he have some sort of problem with his eyes nose mouth ears, does it pinch? chech browband, noseband, bit (could be too small) make sure they don't pinch/rub him. why not try him bitless? the bit may annoy him, www.bitlessbridle.co.uk have dr cooks, the best bitless to get. anyone on here would tell you!! and you can trial them. Could be headshaking of course, sometimes linked to pollen in air irritating nostrils? nosenets attached to the noseband can help sometimes. if the bridle is too small/pinching/rubbing then he would throw his head if it is painful. is something too tight? could it be linked to a problem in his back? nerves? check everything. thats usually safest! can't think of anything else at the mo. let us know!

check everything beckie has suggested and have the teeth checked, you will be amazed at how many problems can occur in the mouth.
