I have 4 I can never decide which one to talk about so from oldest to most recent: I had N:coloured 14.2hh pony. Came as a saint, dropped dead aged 9 8 months later as a saint. Only fault was he was exceptionally possessive of food.
Oops, D was there before him.Came as a'famil ypony' AKA 6yr old connemara who I can't even remember what he knew. We didn't pay much so I'd say didn't make it in the show ring.Taught him how to buck, nap, stop (we were kiddies, and he was far too intelligent). Now taught him how to jump, hack, not buck, play pony games, xc, bow
Then S1-6yr old 14.2 coloured gelding. Amazing scope, I had just lost N and he was very green. Went rearing and bucking down the side of the school on occasions, very responsive. Jumped out of the school with me (from standstill), breaking my collarbone. Sent away for schooling (too grumpy to sit in the stable ) bad decision, came back with spur marks and dead in the mouth. Took him to pre-novice eventing, 1.10 SJ, and decent flatwork. Taught him to lessen his biting, i.e. he didn't bite me or lunge over the stable door at anything that moved.
and lastly S, bought him a yr ago. Done up to NOvice eventing. I'm at pre-novice, moving him up this year to Nov. I haven't taught him anything, he already know sit all. 17hh tbx gelding (would say 99% tb) who weaves, jumps 1.45m easily, bumpy legs, doesn't DO injections but otherwise practically perfect in every way (although he won't be hunting again as it got a little exciting!)

Dan in my first lesson(with another instructor to one I have now) Id not long been cantering him despite having had him 6 months. Interesting to look back and see what we've learn in a few years. Reckon iv learn more these last few years since that photo than i have in the last 10.In fact I get horrified looking back at how I used to ride and im sure i'll feel the same in few years about how I ride now. The double BTW is for the curb when needed lol I just couldnt stop him rearing and whipping round(should say the curb was for the bit after.. he used to bugger off with his head between knees). Think id have a heart attack and drop off if he did that not but used to be every day. Year later Few months ago Wish I had an up to date pic and think we've made another breakthrew last few weeks

I have a five year old full connemara of 15.2 who is wise beyond his years. I had taken a 20 year break from riding as a teenager and bought Blue despite my complete terror of riding again. We are hacking and schooling and I am completely devoted to him- horse for life. Recently bought a 14.2 ride/drive gypsy mare Bidi-bum, to keep Blue company. She's a darling and will probably never be ridden. Not a jot of seperation anxiety from my boy and he seems now to have arrived in heaven on Earth.

Just owned the one horse - piccy below. Flynn had been backed for 6 weeks and ridden in a school when I bought him from a local dealer as a 4yo. Been on one hack and that was it.
He's nearly 11 now and we are happy hackers and enjoy pleasure rides as well. He also enjoys jumping - not me so much, although I do have my AI from over 20 yrs ago now.

Hi, we have one horse, who is an American Bashkir Curly. We have had her since October but have put her in full livery whilst being trained as she was unbroken when we got her. We bought her because of their reputation for being very calm and hardy. Much like that of the quarter horse. She herself came from Canada originally but had been in Scotland for 3 years. She is nearly 4 and can now hack and do light schooling. She needs a lot of bringing on which myself and my 12 year old daughter will do. We only took her on as we know excellent people to train her and us! I paid 1,800 for her unbroken but she is a rare breed (less than about 10 in whole of uk) wouldn't sell her but have no idea what she's worth. But as a hardy, eats very little, lives out, no rugs, great termperament - even walks to you in the field as she's so pleased to see us, I think she's be a catch!!!

i started with arabs 15 years ago when i spent my college grant on a yearling charlotte and a 5 year old mare cyra. we broke both in and have mainly been happy hackers, have done some regional group ahs shows and always been placed. to date charlotte has bred 2 fillies and 2 colts. the boys have been sold but we kept the girls so have monafisa, who is in foal and shagara (an anglo) who i'm hoping will be shown under saddle 2007. Cyra has had 2 fillies and 3 colts and is back in foal. Again the colts have been sold and the girls kept, azura has had a fab show career and has bred 2 fillies, 1 kept and 1 sold and is in foal and ioana has just been broken in. We also purchased two mares from the famous Rosthwaite stud, Shahlie and Bint Jacio ( telephone no. price tags) shahlie has caused us heart ache as both times she foaled they were breach births and we lost the foals, but we did lots of show and hacked out, as already posted lost her last week aged 30. Bint jacio was a sorry state when i bought her, a top show mare have been european champ and imported from us( her grand daughter took the res us national tittle 2 years running) but had returned from major colic op. after having complications. SHe didn't know how to graze, only wanted to be in a field for 1 hour then ran up and down the fence, but she turned into a laid back kind mare and gave us 2 fillies, benfica we kepted and has just been broken in and for the arab people is been covered by PADRON PSYCHE next year. We have 2 welshies for the kids, bobby who cost us 500 and peek-a-boo who was 275. She will be doing lead rein next year. Well i've lost count now. Sorry i'm been greedy !!

Ahhhh, i have a 16.2hh IDXTB, hes done Affil PSG dressage and is an ex eventer to advanced level, his name is Polo and hes 15YO. Hes not competed for a long time but its all still there and he LOVES to jump so has taught me alot. Hes probably still worth alot as i havent changed him or made him any worse but i never bought him as he was gifted to me so i dont know how much hes worth TBH! A Complete schoolmaster and very affectionate with it! Hes the Grey in my sig.
Ginger is a 9YO 14hh cob mare whos been LOU by insurance due to a lying dealer which is being dragged through the courts as we speak! Shes in my sig and has ringbone in both front pasterns so is unrideable but sound and happy! I bought her for £2500 and shes probably worth £0 not that it matters as she will remain mine regardless.

I have Hamish, a 14.3hh Gypsy Vanner. He is blue and white, approx. 6 years old. He is my first pone, and I have had him since May 05. We do hacking at the moment, but will be doing some shows and pleasure rides next year. I am an average rider, and I have relearnt everything I learned when younger!!! I paid £2500 for him, not sure what he's worth now - to me he is priceless!!!!

I have had Autumn, who is 14, for over 4 years. She cost £1800, and has become the perfect mannered horse, and a brilliant hack (although we did go through a phase of thinking we were a race horse). She is a chestnut IDx, 15.2. at the beinning of this year she went lame, diagnosed with coffin joint djd, and the vet asked if I had loss of use insurance as all she could do was hacking in straightlines on soft ground. took her shoes off, EP trimmed, and six months later she is doing brilliantly at unaffil. novice dressage (only at prelim before the lameness). I would sell my soul before I sold her. If she hadnt had the djd episode I would think she'd be worth about £3k for her easy nature and perfect manners. forawrd by obedient, calm but fun. I love her. I also have Dolce, 15.2 connemara x TB, 8 years old. I paid £4k (too much!). I am learning to ride her as she really needs riding properly - bit of a shock to me. been through physio treatment, suspected ulcer, and her biting me (and we've only had her for 6 months). She was only purchased because of Autumn's prognosis - so there's a lesson, never listen to a vet! here they are i96.photobucket.com/albums/l180/nich_01/menmygirls2.jpgi96.photobucket.com/albums/l180/nich_01/autumnride-1.jpg
