Hi
I would be interested in people's opinions of these. The one I am thinking of is the Ideal Highland & Cob Saddle. I am having endless problems trying to get something for my table top, no withers, croup high Section D that is comfortable for both of us and does not slip. We have tried 7 saddles in just over a year, including Treeless.
Has anyone got one of these for a similar shaped horse and if so, how do you find it?
Many thanks.

Absolutely love them. I had a welsh cob/tb mare who was very wide and her Ideal saddle was great. I have Dartmoor ponies who are table tops and have showing or whp saddles for them. Thay are well made and comfortable for both horse and rider. Tha only other make I woild suggest is a Fylde which have a very good reputation.

I had my saddle hand made because I had trouble finding one to fit my mare.

I have an Ideal Apex Highland and Cob and I love it (so does my very wide horse!) Mine did slip a bit initially, but a non-slip pad helped until the saddle bedded down properly. They also will make a saddle to fit your own template, they are a very friendly company. I have an xxx-wide one.

Hi
Thanks for the feedback everybody I think I might try one then. We have had a made to measure saddle for him but it was the wrong shaped tree. I am currently trialling a Strada which is a beautiful saddle but is slipping laterally, we also have a Heather Moffatt Phoenix which slips a bit but is not comfortable for me. The other saddle I was thinking of was a WOW but apart from the huge price tag, have heard conflicting views of air flocking so not sure about that.

Hi, I had an Ideal Working Hunter on my VERY round Cob. Suffered terribly from rolling. I now have a Saddle Company Cob model. Absolutely brilliant and at a very reasonable price too.
