Have just posted some pretty photos of Lutine on her blog. Haven't updated it for a while so thought I would pop them on there. If anyone's interested in seeing them, they're at www.lutinedumanaou.blogspot.com

What you've done for Lutine is amazing. I read right through her blog with tears rolling down my face. What a lovely co-owner to be concerned enough about her to give her the chance to come right! Reading the blog made me much more aware of how devastated you must have been when her eyes were in danger too. Saying that isn't diminishing what you felt for Mascagne or Crystal going through it, by the way. I know they're all equally important to you, but, you have gone through the mill and back again with them all. You've worked a true wonder with her and she looks stunning! Happy New Year Wendy!

Thanks guys, glad you like her! (I do too ) I still don't think that Lutine's eyes look right at night. However, the vet and all the references I've read all say that the marker for uveitis is pain in their eyes, which will cause things like swelling, tearing and photophobia as well as the constricted pupil. Lutine's certainly happy to look around normally during the bright sunshine of the day, there's no other symptoms except for these occasional white streaks and dots in her eyes around the corpora nigra and the edge of the pupil and the fact that I don't think her pupils are as dilated as they used to be at night.... so I dunno.... Certainly, when Mascagne got the uveitis intially, she looked like a mixied rabbit in the paddock; her eyes were swollen, hot and she could not open either of them. With Crystal, there was the slightest swelling of the eyelid and she was holding it shut against the light too. I just have to keep observing and hoping for the best. Crystal and Mascagne aren't doing too badly at all at the moment. I think the eyes on both of them are starting to relax and come out of the orbits more now, which means the pain has gone or has significantly diminished. The pain of the uveitis causes the muscles to contract at the back of the eyes causing them to sink into the orbits, which also makes their eyes look shrunken in. I get the impression with both of them that the eyes are coming back out of the sockets a bit more. Crystal hasn't had atropine for several days now and I thought that the pupil of her good eye looked fairly normal last night. So we'll see. I am carrying on with the vet treatment and the more holistic stuff and we'll see where it gets us. I will update Lutine's blog more in the next few days hopefully. Cheers!
