jacob has to have his mane and tail plaited in long plaites with a hood on otherwise he lays on it and pulls it all out same with his tail it has to be tied up right until he goes in the ring otherwise he treads on it.
i tend not to really brush his mane that often it pulls it out and breaks it but when i do i use a horsey conditioner and put that through it
hope that helps x

Otto has his mane plaited up over winter and i really brush it and always use conditioner...it just seems to grow really slowly... also over summer i think he got too hot because he started rubbing it on things and hes now got little tuffty bits at the top! it is growing slowly but still doesnt look half as impressive as your boys!

Showhorses, lovely lovely horse. I really would like to show my coloured cob this coming year, I'm sure he's got 'it', (although I could be biased!!). Unfortunately I don't have a school, or any flat land to school on, I'll just have to improvise on hacks and take my chance at a show. Here he is......do you think we have a chance?

He's 11. I've got him on loan until next August, but his owner has given me full permission to get him out and about, and there's a possibility I might be able to buy him eventually. He's very strong, he arrived with a full quota of flash nosebands, martingales etc, and I don't think he's done much in his life. Full of attitude, wonderful smooth paces, spanking trot etc....and a wonderful natural head carriage. Great mane. and symmetrical markings (clown horse)!!
